A Vacation Destination in Their Own Backyard

After living in our home for over 23 years, we decided it was time for an update. We painted our red brick house a creamy white and transformed our backyard to mimic some of our favorite travel experiences. Our deck was our favorite part of the project — replicating the feeling of stepping out on to 30A Florida beaches (a stretch of beaches off Highway 30-A in the Florida Panhandle). For our decor, I was inspired by a teak fish made from the reclaimed wood of Indonesian fishing boats that we found at a street festival in coastal Georgia. That set the design tone for us, with our Teak 5-Seat L Sectional and Teak Coffee Table, anchored with a subtle rug and accented with year-round flowers for pops of color, our backyard feels like a vacation every time we step outside.
