My husband, Craig, typically travels several times a month for work, so when he's home he loves to spend time working and lounging on our screened porch. I love to cook, play with my kids, and host get-togethers with my girlfriends. We all love to watch sports! Fall is our favorite time of year — big college football fans here. We have a screened-in patio with a wood-burning fireplace located just off our kitchen that we consider a second living room. We also have another outdoor covered space by the grill, and a bistro table perfect for family meals or working on school projects. Austin is really wonderful because you can be outside almost year-round. We love that our home faces east. In the evening, in hot months, we get a cool breeze when the sun hides behind the house. In winter, we turn on the firepit and get cozy. We can spend all day outdoors: morning coffee and news, laptop working and phone calls, and dinner on the patio. It’s fantastic.
