My modest outdoor space is my tiny oasis hidden in the suburban Beltway metro area overlooking a small but precious lake. It’s our outdoor living room, kitchen and dining room complete with fresh herbs, veggies and blooming flowers. I exhale from the hustle and bustle of our nation's capital when I look out at the still water, and find peace observing wildlife while I walk around the lake trail or put in my kayak for a paddle. Lounging under the shade of a 100 year old oak tree, I feel positive about the world as I watch my diverse community pass by enjoying the lake trail and the lake.

I am a nature lover who is most content outside. There is nothing that makes me happier than walking and observing. I travel often for my demanding job which allows me to wander in many different places. I try to instill my wanderlust in my two teenage daughters and encourage my significant other to join me.
